Neskantaga First Nation - Band Office
Description of Services: Responsible for planning, developing and implementing all social, recreational and special events for children and youth of the community
  • Provides various activities such as arts and crafts, baking nights, movie nights and outdoor sports events
  • Organizes and supervises various outdoor activities for youth during summer months such as baseball, football, soccer, dodgeball and frisbee
  • Works with the Brighter Futures program
Recreation services and facilities include:
  • Baseball diamond
  • Beach area
  • Gymnasium
  • Skating rink
  • Recreation complex, used for feasts, social gatherings, indoor sports activities; also includes office space for mineral exploration companies working with the community
Internet Cafe
  • Provides a drop-in cafe for youth to receive assistance with resume writing and filling out job applications
  • Offers a social centre for youth

  • Focus is on child and youth members of Neskantaga First Nation but parents welcome

  • Children younger than 6 years of age must be supervised by parent/guardian when participating in activities and programs
