Organization: Eabametoong First Nation
Description of Services: Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities
Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Hospital services available at Sioux Lookout, Meno Ya Win Health Services or Thunder Bay, Regional Health Sciences Centre
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Nishnawbe-Aski Police Services, Northwest Region; local phone: 807-242-8561; fax: 807-242-1039
  • Child and Family Services worker on-reserve provided through Tikinagan Child and Family Services, head office in Thunder Bay
  • Offers a full service community and several locally owned businesses including Eabametoong First Nation Inn, 2 grocery stores, a few video stores and convenience stores and the White Clay North coffee shop
  • Provides a Canada Post postal station at Corny's Variety Store
  • Air service provided through the Fort Hope Airport by Wasaya Airways and Nakina Outpost Air Service
  • Offers cable television, Internet services and a local radio station (89.9 FM)
  • Supports a 5-acre community garden/farm
  • Administers John C Yesno Education Centre through the Eabametoong Education Authority
  • Provides a Volunteer Fire Department
  • Offers the Kevin C Sagutcheway Nursing Station
